Tadashige Nishida |
Tadashige Nishida was born in 1942, in Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. After he graduated from The University of Chiba in Tokyo, he lived in Spain for one year before producing Nihon-ga style Japanese paintings. From 1961 to 1984, Tadashige Nishida exhibited his paintings at numerous exhibitions, where he received awards and great attention from his presentation of work.
In 1985, Tadashige Nishida started to learn the method of Japanese woodblock printmaking and was accepted to exhibit his work at galleries in New York that very same year. Through his success in printmaking, Nishida continued to do woodblock prints and exhibited countless times at major galleries and high-end department stores in Japan. From 1986 to the early 1990's, Nishida's prints were being published as calendars for many banks and large corporations.
Tadashige Nishida's current works depict cats in play, where he hand printed over 150 different images that are being admired by collectors alike. |
